Inspired by the beauty of Key West and the Golden Isles of Georgia, the essence of his work is to take high resolution photographs and digitally enhance them to create an artwork reflective of the mood when the original image was captured. The process results in an oil, watercolor or paint and ink effect for the finished piece.
A long-time resident of St. Simons Island and a part-time resident of Key West, Elexis McGrath is a member of the Coastal Photographers Guild, the Florida Keys Council of the Arts, and a juried member of the Glynn Art Association. His award-winning PhotoArt will appear in the 2011 Keys Culture Magazine and an upcoming exhibition on the Wall of Art at the main facility of Southeast Georgia Health System and Hospice of Golden Isles.
